Gabriella Marchetti
I majored in Performance and Communication Arts at St. Lawrence University — which is located at the very top of New York, like, 10 minutes from Canada, so I can handle a cold winter.
In between school years I was able to land internships around the world. One at a small film company in Hawaii producing wedding videos, and another at the United Nations in Italy as a corporate communications intern. With these experiences I learned how to produce quality content for clients, and how to create and navigate a large database with nearly all of the schools across the globe, respectively. I also figured out how break into my own apartment and that a hair-tie makes for a great sandal strap — you know, real life stuff.
After college I was hired at Bona Fide Beauty Lab and was crucial in the development and launch of the new makeup line Beauty by POPSUGAR. During my time there I did a range of things from making sure boats got to the right port to building desks. But what I really liked was writing copy. I wrote new product copy for the site, Instagram captions, marketing emails, and PR mailers.
When my time in the makeup world came to an end, I found myself at Wayfair. As a contract product copywriter I spend my days writing product copy for all things home for their lifestyle brand AllModern, exclusive Kelly Clarkson brand, and their many other white labels. I use information provided by the suppliers and make sure the product descriptions are optimized for SEO. I know so much about rugs and sofas, if you need advice HMU.
Now I am a web and marketing content writer at 829 Studios. I spend my days handling a wide range of clients from summer camps, and a street-wear clothing brand to an app for contractors/homeowners, and a cannabis container company. Depending on the day you can find me writing emails, social captions, blogs, and web content. Through subject matter expert interviews and lots of industry research I become a mini authority in each of my clients’ voice and industry.
As a small side hustle when I’m not writing about contractors, cannabis containers, or camps, I manage the social media sight for a NYC based artist. I create her posts and stories to promote her works, while developing her brand. As the social manager I planned, coordinated, and launched the reveal of her collaboration with legendary rock and roll photographer Mick Rock.
